Student Project ‘Children’s Book Illustration’ | 7th Semester 2022/23
As a child, there were nights when I lay awake for hours, plagued by insomnia and the profound questions of life. One thought that occupied my mind for a long time was the concept of nothingness, absence, the intangible, the opposite of existence. To this day, it hasn't let me go.
In my book ‘Das Nichts, nach dem ich mich sehnte’ ('The Void I Longed For'), I revisit this thought and the insatiable longing for an answer to the question "What is nothingness and where can I find it?" My protagonist and I embark on a subtle quest across 32 pages, where nothing is as it initially seems.
The project was accompanied by the renowned children's book illustrator Susanne Straßer.
